Although this story really doesn’t have anything to do with homosexuality per se, the fact that Jed has two daddies won’t help the cause of staying therapy free.
I don’t happen to believe homosexuality is just another “lifestyle” choice because it’s not something that can be encouraged as preferable and it’s not in the range of normal behavior. I know that gets some people’s panties in a bunch but that’s just the damn fact.
I think reality-based estimates are that something less than 5% of the population is homosexual so it is, in fact, abnormal on that basis alone.
As much as I hold the view that homosexuality is wrong and against the natural order, my libertarian tendencies outweigh that view and whatever two consenting adults want to do, go at it.
Really, there are only two kids of people in this world: good and bad. If someone is a good person, they can be gay till [...]

Graham Statement on Hamdan Sentence
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) today made this statement on the sentence handed down to Salim Hamdan who was convicted by a military tribunal at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
“Having been a military lawyer for over 25 years I know how hard military jurors try to render fair and impartial justice. I respect the military commissions work product in terms of a guilty finding and the sentence handed down by the military jurors. I hope all Americans will as well.
“Both the verdict and sentence can be reviewed by our federal judiciary.
“It is important to remember Hamdan was Bin Laden’s driver and did provide material support to the architect of 9/11. It is clear from the evidence he is an enemy combatant.
“The decision [...]

Now this is just awkward. A while back, Obama had pledged to go after Bin Laden regardless of what country he was hiding in, and for some reason, the Republicans decided to chide Senator Obama for this reckless idea. Because heaven forbid that we ever actually capture or kill Bin Laden, even though he is the most wanted man in the world. But Republicans pointed out that Pakistan, where Bin Laden is believed to be hiding, was actually an ally (of sorts) in the “war on terror.” It seems to have escaped the notice of those in D.C. that many within Pakistan are actually backing our enemies (notably their version of the FBI, known there as the ISI), and the government of Pakistan has itself announced that there are some within it’s ranks that are not-so-secretly in favor of Islamic extremists. Now if you actually have people within the government of Pakistan that are anti-Western nutjobs, it would [...]

Taking in what Obama has said in the past and how he has used the race card time and time again, its plain to see reverse racist in full bloom! Being taught by one of the most racist liberals in American today Jeremiah Wright, Obama has turned into the same type person as Wright and the leader of The Nation of Islam.
Here Newsmax hit the nail on the head! For an example just look at the racist fight in Tenn and yes it’s the blacks being racist and they are supporters of Obama.

If by “racist” one means those who politically grant certain groups a social position of privilege or superiority over others solely because of skin color, then many Democrats are among the most racist people who have ever lived.
The Democratic Party, we must never forget, is historically the party of slave owners.
Today the skin colors Democrats favor [...]

With the all too real possibility of Barack Obama being assassinated because of his race, message, and position, authorities are taking no chances.
A 22 year old Florida man by the name of Raymond Hunter Geisel, has been arrested and is being detained in Miami. He is charged with making threats to “assassinate Obama” himself if the politician is elected.
Geisel made the comments while training to become a bail bondsman. Police raided his houseboat, docked at Marathon Key, and found weapons, which he claims he needs for his training.
According to the AP, Geisel told the Secret Service he has post traumatic stress but that has yet to be verified. If convicted, he faces a maximum of 5 years in prison for threatening a Presidential candidate.

By. John Browne - August 6, 2008 http://www.europac.net
Yesterday, the Fed surprised no one and left its key rates unchanged and gave no indication that the committee was preparing to raise or lower rates anytime in the foreseeable future. As always, the market reactions were much more interesting and unpredictable. In this case, bond markets barely changed, the U.S. stock market jumped, and Euro futures strengthened slightly against the U.S. dollar.
Although few monetary hawks felt that there was any reasonable chance for an inflation-fighting rate hike this week, there was hope that lone FOMC dissenter Richard Fisher would be joined by other committee members in voting against the current round of liquidity injections. No such luck there. For now at least, Mr. Fisher is still a one man band. The rest of the Committee still shows no stomach to really take on inflation (despite this week’s alarming CPI report) and plenty [...]

No, I’m not embellishing, he actually said that.
Yes, but what does Obama himself believe? “I think oil companies are amoral. They want to make as much money as they can for their shareholders, which is what corporations do,” he says. “The difference is the nature of the kind of outsized profits they make that may have no relationship to their investments or their production. The fact, for example, [that] the shortage of refinery capacity could actually increase their profits so the less they invest the more they make indicates that you are not dealing with someone making widgets out there.”
Obama circled back to our conversation when a questioner at yesterday’s town hall meeting asked why he singled out oil companies. This time his answer ventured beyond refinery capacity and widgets.
“So the question is, does it make more sense for the oil companies to pay for it or does it make [...]

Be careful of what you wish for, you just may get it. According to Wall Street Journal blogger Steven Waldman, the Democrats have been wanting a fired-up religious left for quite a while. Well, now that one is emerging, it seems they might not like what’s happening as a result.
In a recent post by Waldman, it appears Mr. Tony Campolo (a rather loud and obnoxious left-wing evangelist) happens to be sitting on the Democrat’s platform committee. He and another left-wing evangelical (Jim Wallis) are pretty adamant about making a stink to get the wording changed in the Dem’s platform to seek an reduction in abortions.
The now famous phrase ”a woman’s right to choose” was created in the effort to get abortion laws passed — Dr. Bernard Nathanson, one of the founders of NARAL, says as they were brainstorming catch-phrases to spin off to the media, they were laughing at the “woman’s right [...]

Carol Rosenberg of The Miami Herald reports from beautiful, sunny Guantanamo Bay:
In a stunning rebuke, a six-member U.S. military jury Thursday ignored a Pentagon prosecutor’s plea for a 30 years-plus term and ordered Osama bin Laden’s driver to 66 months in prison.
With credit for time served given by the judge, that means Salim Hamdan, 40, of Yemen will be sent back to the general detainee population of Camp Delta by January, and eligible to return home.
[...]
In court, Hamdan’s longest-serving defense attorney, retired Navy Lt. Cmdr. Charlie Swift, clasped the more diminutive Yemeni in a bearhug and both men openly wept.
Afterwards, Swift vowed that lawyers would work to send Hamdan home to his wife and two daughters by January. Lawyers were prepared to go straight to federal court with a habeas corpus petition, he said, were the U.S. to seek to continue to hold the driver after the sentence were [...]
